As parents of young athletes, we want nothing more than for our kids to succeed. We are quick to share in the joys of their successes, of course, but can also get caught up in ineffective ways of mentoring – and parenting – when success is not going their way.
As well-intentioned as they may be, most parents do not understand the intricacies involved in positively coaching the mental and emotional parts of the game (much has changed in recent years in our understanding of how the mind works in relation to optimal performance). The bottom line is that calmness and confidence are every bit as important behind the ropes as they are on the course itself, since a parent’s emotional energy is intuitively being felt by athletes in highly profound and palpable ways.
Plan to join Tim N. Kremer, M.A., president and founder of Spirit of Golf, Peak Performance Mind Coach for Club Med Academies, and one of the country’s leading peak performance mind coaches, for a special parenting seminar that will help moms and dads learn to successfully mentor their juniors while empowering them as young adults.
During the seminar, Tim will discuss a number of “performance traps” that parents often fall into while coaching their kids. More importantly, he offers solution-based strategies that will help parents coach themselves in more highly productive ways, keeping all parties better grounded emotionally and on a higher performance track.
To register for this event or for more information, contact Spirit of Golf at 772-879-1978. Payment is made prior to the seminar at the Golf Pro Shop.
A hallmark of this event is a demonstration of FocusBand technology, a revolutionary new biofeedback device (a small band strapped around the head) that allows participants to measure when the brain/body is in states of Zone-like focus. Tim is one of a handful of instructors throughout the world now using this device in his coaching practice.
